I need to find my paternal grandfather but have no name can anyone help.?

My nans name is eileen mavis fitzgerald she lived in hastings and had my mum age 21 who was born in jan 1962,she will not give us a name of my mothers father or anything can anyone tell me how i can attempt to trace him?
