Statistical significance of 0.01?

I have this psychology's ignment about detecting a flaw in a research scenario. Since this is not a statistic cl, I already forgot a lot of things about statistical stuff. This scenario has a statistical significance of 0.01. Is this normal? or will it be a problem, or maybe there's some better cut off scores to use to reduce the probability of an error?
