Why is the side marker in my 1992 Nissan Maxima dimmer than the other sides light?

When i turn on my right turn signal, the light by the fender illuminates to light up wat is to the right of me, but on the left side the light is very dim. also it seems the right headlight is stronger than the left headlight. wat is causing the left side of my car to be dimmer than the right side?
